On Tuesday, November 29th, 2016, join us for a daylong interdisciplinary conference where we embrace the changing face of what it means to grow older – and the link between creativity and aging – with students and faculty, senior service providers, practitioners in the field of gerontology, older adults in the community, policy makers, and interested members of the community. By comparing the characteristics of the aging brain to the creative brain, by exploring the psychological impact aging has on creativity and creativity has on aging, by highlighting models of creative aging and the success it demonstrates in sustaining vibrant communities, by learning how other parts of the world view the connection and creativity of their elders, and by exploring the impact all this can have on investing in our aging communities, we strengthen our understanding of how imagination builds through time, we advance the opportunities and adventures for older adults to continue finding meaning in life, and we open up avenues of support for a population that can thrive intensely if given a chance.
